My experience with Microsoft word is probably what most students experience. I've used it to right essays, letter, reports, projects, stories, etc. The way I've seen my teachers do it is using it for class notes or to make newsletters and handouts. I've used Word to write news articles for my school's newsmagazine.
My experience with copyright and fair use has been pretty extensive. I've taken many mass media and communications classes and we always go over copyright and fair use. As a writer, I have to worry about plagiarism and making sure everything in my story is true and original.
Technology in today's era is very much a part of education and that comes with benefits and risks. In order to solve some problems that comes with implementation I'd address these three specific ones in the following manner:
1. The internet has a lot of content that might not be appropriate for students so I would implement a firewall softer, or some sort of filtering/censorship software to make sure my students aren't using the internet for something inappropriate.
2. Social media and cyberbullying are still big problems and concerns. This is especially true when the way the school is represented is in jeopardy. If students are posting inappropriate pictures at school, and tagging the school, thats a matter for the school to get involved. I would also get involved in incidents of cyberbullying. I understand a student's privacy is important but I think it benefits the bullied for the teachers to get involved.
3. New educational technology like smart boards or classroom iPads are becoming more popular because of the immersiveness and involvement on the part of the student. Implementing a smart board would be good because you're able to implement a visual and artistic aspects of your lesson all while being able to other things on the screen at the same time like run notes or presentations.
