The passion that teachers have to help their students learn to the best of their ability could very well influence them to use technology in the classroom. Using technology in the classroom can help students stay involved in the lesson all while helping them develop their knowledge about technology itself. Certain subject and concepts can be taught better through the use of technology, for example, teaching algebra and geometry could be easier understood on a smartboard rather than a dry-erase board. A smart board allows for precise, shapes, lines and measurements, and students can still go up themselves and use the board per the teacher's permission. What might influence students into using technology is their attention and interest in whatever being taught. Computer games are a great way of helping a student learn while having fun at the same time. I remember being a kid in school that games kept me interested while still learning.

Overall I thought the standards were a bit obvious and redundant, but for the sake of having a basic resource, I also thought they were necessary. A standard that specifically stood out to m was: 4. "Promote and model digital citizenship and responsibility. "
I believe that many kids are vulnerable because of the internet and it is the responsibility of
the teacher to make sure they are using the web appropriately and not getting cyber-bullied.
One standard that I may need to work on is number 2: Design and develop digital age
learning experiences and assessments. I may be somewhat familiar with some computer technology
but I will definitely need help in learning ways to design newsletters and lessons.

I think the term digital native is appropriate with todays youth. I feel like today's youth is definitely more
in touch with technology more so than older generations and growing with technology will
make implementing technology into teaching a lot easier. I think in the future there won't really be a
difference with how my students see technology and how I see it because we will both be digital
natives, however there were differences with how my teachers saw technology compared to
when I was a student, sometimes, for example, I found myself helping my teacher work some type
of software for them.
