Assignment 1
My prior experiences with technology have been relatively limited. I know how to use my iPhone pretty well like every other person and I own my own laptop that I use for basic college practices. In high school I was the layout editor of the school news magazine, so I know how to use Adobe Indesign, Photoshop, Premiere, as well as Microsoft Word. Last semester I took a statistics class where we had to learn Microsoft Excel, but at a basic level. I can also use editing software like Final Cut Pro and iMovie. I am very well-versed in social media platforms and really see the usefulness they bring to communicating with students. I essentially see them as a tool.
With this class I hope to familiarize myself with the programs that teachers may use to create lesson plans and teach their students. I also want to become more familiar with some programs in general such as excel and grading programs.I want to also become comfortable with integrating technology into my presentations. I'm hoping this class can show me the interactive side of technology and the applications and uses it provides to give students an immersive classroom experience.

This seems like you actually do have a lot of experience with technology! I think its important to recognize that other students may not have been exposed to all the programs that you may deem as relatively common. That can help as a teacher as well! Students will have all kinds of technology backgrounds and it is important to take that into account when trying to incorporate technology into the classroom.
